Dr. Heidi Brigman

Dr. Heidi Brigman grew up on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Dr. Brigman earned her undergraduate degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Virginia Tech. Her veterinary interests include: preventative medicine, nutrition, dentistry and internal medicine. Dr. Brigman enjoys spending time hiking in the Hills with her husband and her Wirehaired Pointing Griffon “Beamer”. Dr. Brigman is looking forward to meeting you and your fur family!


Dr. Alyssa Keith

Dr. Alyssa Keith is a graduate from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from Hermosa, SD where she grew up riding horses and enjoying outdoor activities including hiking, boating, skiing and biking. She is also a big ice hockey fan and played through college. She is excited to be back in her home state, with her faithful mixed breed dog, to be a part of your pets’ veterinary health care.


Dr. Karissa Ketzner DVM, MS, DACVS-LA

Dr. Karissa Ketzner graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She then went on to complete internships in Equine Medicine and Surgery at the University of Illinois and an Equine Surgical Residence with a Master of Science degree at the University of Missouri. She became a Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2010. After finishing her degrees, Dr. Ketzner moved to Rapid City area where she began working at a mixed animal practice. After discovering a love of working with small animals, she joined the team at Animal Clinic of Rapid City in 2016. Her main interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, preventative medicine and internal medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Ketzner loves to hike the Black Hills with her daughter, husband, and her 3-legged wonder dog "Killian." Dr. Ketzner looks forward to meeting you and your 4-legged loved ones!


Dr. David Christensen

Dr. Dave Christensen has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from Kansas State in 1992.  He has spent most of his career in mixed animal practices, and owned his own practice in central Nebraska for about 10 years.  He has cared for a wide variety of species, including exotics, and has experience in abdominal and orthopedic surgery.  Dr. Christensen is the Emergency Veterinarian on the weekends and sees routine medical appointments on Mondays.  He and his wife have 2 adult children and a grandson, who have given him the title "Baka".


Dr. Melanie Garbel

Dr. Melanie Garbel is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, where she grew up showing and riding hunter/jumper horses. Dr. Garbel earned her undergraduate degree and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. Her veterinary interests include small animal surgery, preventative medicine and internal medicine. She married Dr. Levi Garbel in August of 2016, who is a large animal veterinarian in Belle Fourche. She is excited to be living in the beautiful Rapid City area, as well as getting to know you and your furry family members!
